ANCHOR

Plant it. Fall. Return.

Released Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge Found, never crafted
A planted ANCHOR staff stands in ruined stone, marking a personal return point.

Why it exists

ANCHOR is a found relic. You plant it in the world — it leaves your inventory — and it becomes your personal return. Die, and you stand up beside the staff, not inside it. Each return spends one soul charge. The last charge still saves you, then the relic comes back empty.

What it does

It is not a pocket bed. One player, one planted ANCHOR. Sleep in a bed, light a Respawn Anchor, or let another mod set your spawn: ANCHOR lets go and returns to you, charges intact. Sneak and use the planted staff to take it back yourself; your previous spawn is restored.

Soul charges

Maximum 8. Planting and recalling do not spend charges. Only a completed respawn at the staff spends 1. At 0 charges you cannot plant until you Infuse.

Infuse

Sneak and use the item in the air. Lapis +1, amethyst shard +2, emerald +4, diamond +8. The offering must fit entirely — a diamond at 7/8 is refused, not wasted.

It stays put

You cannot mine it. Pistons and explosions do not move it. If an admin deletes the block, the relic is recovered into your inventory. A full inventory never drops it on the ground: it waits for a free slot.

How it fits

No recipe. Rare loot in dungeons, woodland mansions, nether fortresses, ancient cities and End cities. It is not TRACE: TRACE marks a short path of lights. ANCHOR holds your respawn.
